Well, my mother has been on my case telling me that I need to update my blog. Actually, she told me I suck at blogging!! So, I decided I would attempt to do an update.
Christmas has come and gone and we are already well into the new year! I can't believe it is the end of January already! It wasn't a real happy Christmas this year - Joan, my step-children's mother, passed away on the 16th of December. Her illness and passing all came so quickly. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and underwent surgery to remove the tumour. Unfortunately there were several complications following her surgery and she never did get out of the ICU. Sheila, her only daughter, was wonderful to her throughout the illness - she was by Joan's side all the time caring for her and comforting her. She was incredible. I know that her mother is full of gratitude and so proud of her for her efforts.
On a brighter note, Kayla was able to come home for Christmas. She was only here for a couple days but it was still really nice to have her home. She actually just started a new job this past week - she is working for a land survey company as a receptionist. Actually she does a lot more than reception. So far she is loving it!! Funny thing - she doesn't even know what she is making or when she will get paid!!! Just goes to show that money isn't everything!
Tyson has started the new semester and thankfully passed all his classes last semester! He did especially well in German! He loves it!
Not much new going on with me - I will be going to Vancouver for work in February. I am getting some training in Personnel Security. I can't say I'm really excited about it or anything. I'm not a fan of work related travel. I have to be there over the weekend when I'm there - not sure what I will do... I imagine I will get caught up on a lot of reading!!
Ray continues his digitizing of his life!! He is now digitizing all of his old church talks that he gave when he served in the Stake Presidency.
Well, I know that's not much of an update, but I'm really drawing a blank... I guess my mom is right about my blogging skills!!! Hopefully next time I will have more to say!!
